Our latest issue has been jam packed with the best MTB articles including an ultra exclusive 7-page interview with Jared Graves discussing his crazy past two years and preparing for his much anticipated return to racing this season. Tasmania is undoubtedly the crown jewel of the Aussie riding scene right now and we spent a full month down there creating a handful of articles that showcase all of the best spots for you to discover.

We take a close look at Sam Hill’s latest EWS championship winning bike and his mechanic gives us all the insight into Sam’s set-up. We’ve got coverage from the recent Pivot Switchblade launch event where we spent several days putting the new bike through its paces, plus we’ve got an exclusive first look at the exciting new Transition Scout. Did you know Australia was voted as having the best enduro race track on the planet last year? Well it’s true and we’ve got all the juicy details for you. We’ll then explore what it takes to run a successful bike store in 2020. On the tech front we seek to discover your perfect handlebar width and then we take a look at Grant Allen’s ultra custom Trek Session ‘enabler’. We go in-depth with our review of Yeti’s SB140 and we also crash test Fox’s Dropframe helmet – how does it hold up? Plus, all of your favourite regular features, guest columns, galleries and news. In addition to all of that inside the mag you’ll also find the latest edition of [E]volution Magazine showcasing the latest e-Bike action, tips, news and reviews.

GT Fury Pro

FOR WHATEVER REASON WE DON’T REVIEW A TON OF DOWNHILL BIKES THESE DAYS AND SO OUR TEST TEAM WERE SUPER EXCITED WHEN THE GT’S LATEST CARBON DH MACHINE ARRIVED AT OUR OFFICE. THE ‘FURY PRO’ IS ABOUT AS MODERN AS DH BIKES GET WITH ITS 29” WHEELS, CARBON FIBRE FRAME AND RAZOR SHARP GEOMETRY. THIS IS A BIKE THAT LITERALLY BRINGS WORLD CUP RACING PERFORMANCE STRAIGHT TO THE DEALER FLOOR.

JARED GRAVES INTERVIEW

ON THE EVE OF HIS RETURN TO THE BRIGHT LIGHTS OF THE WORLD RACING STAGE, JARED GRAVES SAT DOWN WITH [R]EVOLUTION MAGAZINE FOR HIS FIRST PROPER INTERVIEW IN OVER A YEAR. IN CLASSIC ‘RUTHLESSLY HONEST’ JARED STYLE HE DOESN’T HOLD BACK WHEN DISCUSSING EVERYTHING FROM THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF BATTLING BRAIN CANCER, TO DEALING WITH THE ADVERSITY OF DOPING ALLEGATIONS, TO ULTIMATELY BEATING CANCER AND NOW PREPARING HIS RETURN TO RACING WITH THE TEAM THAT HE SAYS HAS ALWAYS FELT LIKE ‘HOME’.

Chapter No.2 - A Life Being Rebuilt

LAST ISSUE I ATTEMPTED TO BRING [R]EVO READERS ALONG WITH ME FOR THE BEGINNING OF A TRANSFORMATION FROM A MAN WHO USED TO BE FIT AND FOR THE MOST PART HAPPY TO THE BOTTOM OF AN OVERWEIGHT, LAZY DEPRESSED SLUMP AND BACK AGAIN. THIS IS PART TWO OF THE STORY AND ONE I HOPE YOU ENJOY. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE A STORY OF MOTIVATIONAL FITNESS ALTHOUGH I DON’T MIND IF YOU DRAW MOTIVATION FROM IT. WHAT IT IS, IS A STORY THAT SOME MTB RIDERS MIGHT BE ABLE TO DRAW OUT SOME LIFE LESSONS FROM FOR THEMSELVES. A ROAD MAP FOR PEOPLE IN GENERAL TO BE ABLE TO PICK THEMSELVES UP AND GET BACK IN THE GAME. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE STORY I WEIGHED AN UNHEALTH 124KGS AND THEN SOME AND BY THE END OF THE LAST ISSUE I HAD LOST A WHOPPING 8 KGS IN LESS THAN A MONTH. TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF THE EFFECT 8 KGS HAS ON YOUR RIDING. GO TO YOUR FRIDGE AND PICK UP A FULL 2 LITRE BOTTLE OF MILK. NOW IMAGINE 4 OF THOSE STRAPPED ON YOUR BELLY AS YOU RIDE UP A MOUNTAIN. ONE THING I CAN SAY IS MY TYRES HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH GRIP.

How Is A 40 Something Year Old Supposed To Ride?

More and more lately I have been hearing people comment to one and other whilst out riding, “you’re not 20 any more you know”. Which has gotten me thinking, how is a 40 something year old supposed to handle themselves whilst out razing along the trails?

WEST COAST GO ADVENTURING ROB POTTER & RYAN DE LA RUE

DESPITE THE FACT I’VE LIVED IN TASMANIA ALL MY LIFE, IT TOOK ME TWENTY YEARS BEFORE I MADE IT TO THE WEST COAST. THIS ISN’T UNCOMMON. THE MAJORITY OF MY FRIENDS, RIDING AND OTHERWISE HAVE EITHER VISITED THE POPULAR TOURIST SPOTS OR HAVE NEVER BEEN AT ALL. IT’S AN AREA THAT ESCAPES A LOT OF PEOPLE’S ATTENTION AND I DON’T KNOW WHY.

SUPERSTITION IS RUBBISH

WHEN YOU NEED ANSWERS, THE INTERNET IS A PRETTY GOOD PLACE TO START FOR A VERY MEDIOCRE KNOWLEDGE OF JUST ABOUT, WELL, ANYTHING. PLUS, IT’S THE FIRST POINT OF CALL FOR ANY MEDICAL SELF-DIAGNOSIS, WHICH I GOTTA SAY, IS PROBABLY TO THE DETRIMENT OF THE HUMAN RACE… SO WHEN MY DELUDED HEAD NEEDED TO UNDERSTAND A LITTLE MORE ABOUT SUPERSTITION ALONGSIDE MY SUPPOSED MENTAL STATE, WELL, LET’S JUST SAY I WENT THERE. TO QUOTE THE ENDLESS SUPPOSITORY OF WISDOM AND JUNK CONTENT OF SAID INTERNET:
