Pratik Gauri - 5ire-d up!, The conventional goal
of entrepreneurship
and business is
with the viewfinder
primarily set on
capturing profits. On the other
hand, institutions driven by
purpose often come with the
not-for-profit or charitable
nomenclature.
So, what’s eventually the bigger
picture- profits OR purpose?
Through the Fourth Industrial
Revolution, Pratik Gauri has a
hypothesis that it is possible
to combine both profit
and purpose, having spent
considerable efforts in finding
the answer to this belief. His
own sustainable businesses now
As a 16-year old, Pratik
understood that social
entrepreneurship was considered
synonymous to charity and
businesses were considered
synonymous to profits. “There
was no person or no place that
I could find where people were
working at the intersection
of purpose and profits; where
people were actually making
money and also going good to
the world. Either they were just
doing business and making
money or they were just doing
charity. That’s the way I saw the
dichotomy.” He remembers that
he somehow wanted to work at
the intersection of both these
worlds. Getting to this sweet spot,
he developed the concept of the
Fifth Industrial Revolution.
prove this, resetting the backdrop
to the photoscape of businesses
in the future.
Leading the way with his pictureperfect
synergy of profits AND
purpose, Pratik Gauri is heralding
the Fifth Industrial Revolution. He
discusses how great ideas begin
from small conversations with
Neha Vinod from Cochin Herald
in this exclusive cover story.
