The art and craft of Sculpting involves carving, modelling and constructing, to create three-dimensional objects using various materials such as clay, stone, metal, wood etc. It is an additive technique.

The craft of Carving involves cutting away material from a piece of metal, wood, stone, or any other hard material and creating a desired shape or pattern. It is a subtractive technique.

Both, Sculpting and Carving are creative human expressions which may convey a story or powerful message, document important historical or cultural happenings, evoke emotions, and inspire innovative thinking. They enrich a society's heritage and cultural milieu.

The Social Jigsaw (TSJ) Magazine Description:

A socio-cultural magazine published annually.

It takes inspiration from a jigsaw puzzle which consists of different pieces of a picture. Society too, is like a jigsaw puzzle, made up of pieces of a picture i.e. the society itself.

The puzzle, which comprises of varied shapes and sizes, making it an integrated and kaleidoscopic whole. The people, art, culture, faith, religion, ethnicity and community, if brought together, can be created into a Social Jigsaw !
