I arrived back in the South Island two-and-a-half years ago,
primed for my adventurous new life maximising the motu’s
(particularly great) great outdoors, and have since then
done precisely zero activities that could be classified as
‘tramping’, and just a handful that might fall into the ‘light
walks’ category.
But since the advance copy of Hannah-Rose Watt’s
bloody brilliant new book Wild Walks Aotearoa (from
whence our majestic cover image came) landed on my desk,
I’m feeling re-inspired and ready to kit up and stride out
into the surrounding stunning nature
