BIGO- All Issues
Bigo emphasis on their "pretty" photos perpetuate damaging beauty standards and objectification. These publications often prioritize physical appearance over other qualities, reinforcing the notion that a woman's worth lies solely in her looks. By reducing girls to mere objects for consumption, bigo send a harmful message to readers and contribute to low self-esteem, body image issues, and internalized sexism. Furthermore, these carefully curated images can create unrealistic expectations about beauty, leading girls to feel inadequate or insecure about their own appearance. It is imperative that the media moves away from this narrow definition of attractiveness and instead celebrates diversity, intelligence, talent, and inner qualities that truly define a person's value. Girls deserve representation that goes beyond their outer shell – the focus should shift towards empowering narratives that inspire confidence, ambition, and authenticity.
