In this summer 2022, 23 edition we place the spotlight on Enlightened Business and we feature Fabulous Fungi, exploring all things mushroom, edible, medicinal and psychedelic. When considering travel, environmental factors like carbon emissions, waste management and off-grid offerings are a dominant factor, as is the desire to support sustainable businesses and conscious communities. In 2023 we will explore travel options across our vibrant planet; in this edition, South Coast KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa’s Bali.

Odyssey Summer 24/25 #248 - 2025 Its’ Time…
Odyssey Magazine publishes the 250th edition in July 2025 and we commence our 49th journey around the sun. The age of consciousness has dawned, the time for all of us to take responsibility and move forward  with unwavering courage and authentic and ethical purpose. What a joy it is, as a conscious community, to be able to influence and better the lives of those around us. 2025 holds infinite potential and we share stories and provide solid input on superabundance,  in which we encourage the release of a scarcity mindset and explore manifesting more than sufficient of everything we need and desire in 2025. We journey through mystical intuition, travelling with one of our leading authors, to ‘The other side’. Wellness Within takes us into Africa, showcasing the thought leaders and a with wealth of retreats and immersions that exist not only in South Africa but on the continent we call home.

In the Spring 2024 Edition, issue # 247 of Odyssey Magazine we focus on ‘The Art of Retreating’ and the new wave of wellness getaways that focus on self-care, joy and nature these are a fantastic way to flex your joy muscle. The biggest scourge in the western world is loneliness! retreats, purposeful gatherings and festivals that promote community with like-minded people and that embrace the power of sharing, integration and listening, are a source of immense joy, and flexes our joy muscle even more. With the explosive blossoming of flowers and as our “Earth Laughs in Flowers”, as penned by Ralph Waldo Emmerson, our joy muscle flexes more readily. Flowers… beautiful flowers, in this edition we take a look at the incredible healing power of a flower, not only the exquisite colour and joy that they bring but also in their role in our overall wellbeing, powerfully so, when combined with meditation. In reverence to our earth and in ‘Embracing our Green Economy’, I remember the words by W B Yeats in the poem ‘The Cloths of Heaven’ - “Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.” This poem alludes to Mother Earth’s sustainability and taking only what we need from her. Ask yourself: “How light is my footprint on our life sustaining planet?”

Winter 2024 #246 - A tree cannot survive winter without healthy roots and neither can we. ‘Wellness Within’ is under the spotlight and we also feature ‘Cannabis Therapy’ in this bumper edition. Winter invites deeper reflection and is an opportunity to rest and reconnect with what’s vital in our lives. This edition’s wellness insets and features not only offer ways to enable our immune systems to thrive but also promotes wellness in all areas of our lives. We explore ‘Wealth Wellness’, asking, ‘Do you Money Well’? We touch on the reality of mental health challenges at this time of year, how to reach out and how to support those who reach out to you.

This edition is a gentle reminder that in the summer of our lives we say goodbye to a long, inwardly-focused time of self-reflection and open ourselves to receive the fiery energy of the sun, moving us forward, cleansing every fibre of our being. The Odyssey Magazine Spring Edition #243 is themed ‘Arise Awake’. 
“Spring adds new life and new beauty to all that is”. In spring we are likened to a bud preparing to burst into bloom, able to arise awake, feeling the life force lighting up our personal spirit and we are filled with aliveness as is nature. Odyssey Winter Edition #238   
Thich Nhat Hanh left the earth plane in January this year; this renowned ‘father of mindfulness’, passed at the age of 95. The celebrated Vietnamese Zen Buddhist monk, poet and peace activist was known throughout his life for the practice of ‘engaged Buddhism’. He also authored many writings, including a collection of insights titled How to Love, the inspiration for this feature in this edition. We also feature Vietnam in our eco-travel segment.
What is love exactly? It has been defined and redefined ad nauseam, its psychology has been dissected and applied to philosophical frameworks and - did you know? - a mathematical formula has been devised for attaining it. And yet anyone who has fallen in love - or out of love, for that matter - knows that love remains elusive, the most confounding mystery of our human experience.
Showing up and facing off with this mystery take us into the real and raw of aspects our being, often unwittingly into a primal dance of life.  We commence this dance solo, with ourselves first, self-love is the purest and most powerful love of all and most of us need a ‘kick in the pants’ in the self-love and self-esteem departments. 
Music therapy takes centre stage. In this edition we take a look at music therapy, recognised as a mainstream therapy to help individuals address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs.
Winter places the spotlight on professional coaching, asking the question: What is coaching really?

In the autumn 2022 edition #237 we feature Ayurveda, one of the world's oldest holistic healing systems.
