HAVE you ever felt like the best fishing was miles away from where you were sitting?

Perhaps it’s a symptom of the times we live in, but at any given click of the mouse these days we can be propelled to the other end of the country where, inevitably, some lucky bugger is catching more or bigger fish than we can dream of.

Where our fathers and grandfathers were once happy casting out just a handful of miles down the road, today’s generation of anglers is hungrier than ever to travel. But alongside this greater freedom, perhaps we have also ushered in an age of discontent for the average angler? The internet has seen the floodgates open in terms of locations, catches and information, but are we any happier for it?
