The pocket rocket with a penchant for hounds and sausage rolls.
FOUND dumped at the roadside at 18 months old, life didn’t start well for 13.1hh piebald cob Shamefully Gorgeous, aka Ché. Thankfully, his fortunes changed when he was rescued by Charlotte Thompson, and nine years later, his life couldn’t be more different.
After a stint with Chelsea Rand, Ché was snapped up by the Moreton family, whose daughter Rowan (17; pictured), has now enjoyed 10 fun-filled seasons hunting him with the Surrey Union.
“Ché is now 18 and lives to hunt,” said Rowan’s mother Lucy. “He knows exactly what is expected of him, from staying a mud-splattered last at the back of the field, to giving a lead to a nervous newcomer. He will stand patiently to allow Rowan to do the traditional Pony Club gate duty, and he stands like a rock at the covert, eyes glued to the hounds.”
