Things didn’t quite go according to plan when Michelle Dunn took a break from her chickens
Chickens like routine, which is fine, because so do we. The problem arrives when we decided to change the routine, which is effectively what we do every year when we go on holiday.
The chickens don’t like it. I know this because of the harrowing tales I hear from our chicken-sitters every time we come back. This year, as all good chicken keepers do, I arranged for a friend to come and look after our chickens when we were away. As usual, I assured her that the job would be easy, there was nothing to it really, she just needed to feed and let the birds out in the morning, and feed and put them away in the evening.
