The Doshis, Manish and Malini, and more recently their son Malay, are all architects from CEPT, Ahmedabad. Through Studio Saransh, they bring to life a combination of evolving ideas.
Malini: I first heard about architecture as a professional option at a lecture in school and made an instant connect - my life’s most important decision was made in that instant. I applied to several colleges, made it into all and chose the best – the School of Architecture at CEPT in Ahmedabad! CEPT is a life changing institute - it makes one idealistic about everything in life, including architecture.
Manish: I was very good at drawing but never knew that my artistic capabilities would connect me to architecture, as I was following my parents’ dream of becoming a doctor. However, I couldn’t get enough marks to make it into a medical college and someone suggested I should try applying for architecture at CEPT due to my drawing skills. Thankfully I made it into CEPT I wonder if I would ever have been able to succeed in the medical profession for which I have no inclination.
