The Owner Has Made His Ride Very Special Indeed, Special in Both Show and Go With a Lazy 130 Plus Rear Wheel Horsepower When the Wick Is Twisted.
Yep, you read it right. Blown King. Not Blown Street Glide. Which becomes obvious when you look at the pics that show the rear of the fairing and you see that iconic headlight nacelle, common to all Road Kings since the first one came down the line in York, Pennsylvania, in model year 1994.
And what models they have proven to be, with strong sales in every year since and the recently released Road King Special adding further choice to the mix. Well Ian, the owner of this magnificent 2011 Road King, has made his ride very special indeed, in both show and go.
Special in outstanding looks, special with a powerhouse of a paint job and particularly special by way of a ProCharger supercharger that pumps out a lazy 130 plus rear wheel horsepower when the wick is twisted. And the beauty of a blower is that you do not need to be running stressed engine components all the time, items such as high compression pistons for example.
Ian’s bike cruises around running a moderate 9.6:1 ratio, with S&S 583C cams, the designation C referring to the fact that these are chain driven units, and which feature a reasonably high lift with an intake duration of 203 degrees and an exhaust duration of 262 degrees.
But let me state right now that performance is not just about thumbing through a performance parts catalogue and picking items out willynilly, though I see many examples of this, and way too often.
