One of the biggest motivational statements you can tell yourself is to never give up. No matter how hard it is, always keep pushing forward until you reach your dreams. For Doug Brantley, of Atlanta, Texas, his dream started as a child. “I had all these Hot Wheels trucks scattered around my room,” Doug tells Truckin, “Each one of them I painted with a different color and style.” At that point, he hadn’t realized that trucks would be in his future but he knew that creative spark was always there.
When Doug turned fifteen, he purchased his first vehicle, a classic Mustang, and sent it off to a paint shop. Unimpressed with the quality of work done by the shop, he decided to utilize the skills he had and paint it himself. The confidence he got from painting his first vehicle all by himself led him to start taking jobs painting his friends’ vehicles. In college, he took an Auto Body class to gain even more knowledge and expertise.
