The park was created between 1806 and 1813 by the late John Powell (1769-1849) and itself sits within the wider eighteen hundred-acre estate of Birchington, Acol and Richborough in the borough of Thanet. This was the third year that Quex Park VW Show has taken place here and this year the temperatures were set to soar into thirty-degree heat on the Saturday and this made this show a truly hot one. The overriding vibe of this event was chilled and relaxed though, which made for a very pleasant atmosphere to hang out in and enjoy all things VW.
There was an excellent mix of both classic air-cooled Volkswagens and plenty of later T4s and T5s. All of these models were well represented in the show and shine; that was held in the main event field, adjacent to the family entertainment area and the bar, food stalls and trade stands. This meant that the show and shine was a real draw for the crowds and quite a focal point and being so well positioned it meant that people were milling about and appreciating some lovely vehicles throughout the day on Saturday.
