2019's Class Of Glamour

Meet the stars of Student of the Year 2 ( SOTY 2 ), a Punit Malhotra directorial venture, slated to release on May 9. Yet another big budget, glamour-coded, and youth-oriented Dharma Productions entertainer, it marks the Bollywood debut of two bright and beautiful actors: Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. Starring opposite the six film-old Tiger Shroff, synonymous with electrifying dance moves, SOTY 2 rides on the success of the first SOTY (2012) that launched the careers of actors Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Siddharth Malhotra, and put the aspirations of a dance happy, party-easy, and style-savvy generation in the spotlight. So, when we met the actors in a Mumbai studio for the cover shoot, the tone of the shoot and conversation was instantly set. Of course, our mood boards were prepared in advance—that of Manish Malhotra’s uber-sexy and rock-chic outfits—but a spontaneous ripple of energy permeated the floor. With ace couturier Malhotra being the costume designer of the film and the stylist of this shoot, there was a generous smattering of party-ready sparkle and sexy silhouettes. Top this with dark colours and bold makeup, and we knew we were in for a chart-busting shoot: millennial in spirit and vibe, and peppered with dashes of teasing humour, confiding honesty, and warm friendship. Perfectly in sync with our youthful, vibrant summer issue where young couples meet-cute, propose, and party the night away!

TELL US ABOUT SOTY 2.

TIGER: Well, we are not supposed to give anything away so I can’t say much.

ANANYA: If you want to have a lot of fun, come and watch it.

TARA: And, I just want to say that this film is about friendship, love, and everything in between, so please come and watch it.

TIGER: And, also about following your dreams.
