MRUNAL THAKUR

Mrunal Thakur is an Indian film and television actress who started her acting career in 2012 with the Star Plus show Mujhse Kuchh Kehti... Hai Khamoshiyaan, while pursuing college. She later joined the Zee TV show Kumkum Bhagya, in which her acting skills were highly appreciated. Mrunal has done several shows as well as a dance reality show- Nach Baliye. She then began filming for her first film, the international movie 'Love Sonia', which was released in September 2018. Mrunal forged ahead and made her Bollywood debut with Hrithik Roshan in Super 30. Later in 2019, she was cast opposite John Abraham in the action thriller Batla House. In 2019, she also starred as the fictional character Sivagami in a spin-off series of the Baahubali film franchise, named Baahubali: Before the Beginning. In 2020, she appeared in the Netflix film Ghost Stories, an anthology horror consisting four segments. Mrunal is now gearing up for her upcoming movies Jersey, Toofan and Aankh Micholi. With her suave fashion sesnse & impeccable acting skills, Mrunal is all set to rule the Indian acting scene.

YOU HAVE BECOME A STYLE ICON FOR INDIAN MILLENNIALS. HOW DID YOU DISCOVER YOUR SENSE OF STYLE?

Thank you very much for this question because I did not know I was or I had become the style icon for the Indian millennials. I discovered my style early on and I always believe that comfort matters the world to me. And my comfort is wearing Indian outfits. I really feel very confident in them and probably that's how I discovered it too because you know Pranay who's also my stylist he helped me to understand my body type and what is more comfortable than what looks good on me so yeah, I think the sense of style only gets developed over a period of time. Pranay who also goes by ‘who wore what when’ helped me discover my style of playing with colours and at the same time in ethnic as I’m very much rooted in the Indian culture.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE WHEN YOU FACED THE CAMERA FOR THE FIRST TIME?

When I faced the camera for the first time I was very scared and nervous at the same time. The amount of make-up and hair and outfit it was just too much going on but there was this magic that happened on the moment the director said action. I just forgot that I was wearing makeup & had too many things in my head and was wearing this heavy outfit. This was the first experience I remember. There was this monologue act I had to perform and the topic was ma (mother) so that magic is indescribable.
