As a leader, there are thousands of things you could do right now, which would cause your followers to respond. They will do something different to what they otherwise would have done. Have you ever wondered why?
As you contemplate the actions that would make a difference, also take notice of those that you are dismissing; the ones that would not work right now but would work under different circumstances. Maybe even those actions that you learnt from the latest leadership model are not appropriate right now. Again, have you asked yourself why? Why would actions that, in different circumstances, represent great leadership not work now?
