The vision of the Green Sports Hub is to be the premier destination for sports training, sports leisure and sports tourism in Dubai. The Green Sports Hub does not only provide extensive and varied sports facilities, but also creates a vibrant and multi-functional sustainable attraction used as a social and educational resource open for all: A true sports community.
The Green Sports Hub is a 50,000 sqm sustainable sports hub consisting of sports academies, indoor and outdoor sports facilities, shops, restaurants, gym, sports hotel and other leisure facilities. GSH has been designed to be sustainable and will be developed to enhance the local environment and inspire a generation into sociable, healthy and responsible values.
By using native species, local landscape typologies and natural biotopes as the main driver for its sustainable solutions, the Green Sports Hub will not only be a beacon on how to use nature-based solutions in the Gulf Region – it will also be a celebration of the rich and varied cultural and natural history of the UAE.
The landscape as driver for sports and social cohesion
It is the international landscape architects and nature designers SLA who has designed the innovative landscape in the Green Sports Hub. The building architects are Danish firm CEBRA, consultants are Act NOW, while the project itself is initiated and headed by former Danish soccer star and current Dubai entrepreneur Ebbe Sand.
