Ava Michelle - Dishes On The New Netflix Movie, Tall Girl

Some might remember actress and dancer, Ava Michelle, from Dance Moms on Lifetime, but her most memorable role yet is playing that of Jodi Kreyman in the Netflix comedy, Tall Girl. Ava has been trained in contemporary, ballet, pointe, and jazz, and she also has her own clothing line, “AVA X JMS.” Ava discusses her big break, how she’s like Jodi from Tall Girl, her approach to auditioning, and her definition of self-love. GLITTER: How long have you been acting?

AVA: About 4 years!

GLITTER: What would you say was your big break?

AVA: TALL GIRL!!!!

GLITTER: What can you tell us about the Netflix movie, Tall Girl? Who do you play?

AVA: Tall Girl is a coming of age film, tells the story of a 16-year-old girl, who I play, named Jodi. She has been bullied for her height most of her life and believes it is a negative thing because this is what she is constantly told by others. When an exchange student enrolls in her school, she thinks she might finally have everything she’s ever wanted. Throughout her journey, Jodi discovers many things about herself that even surprise her. It is a story about finding yourself, love, friendship, and battling the normal complications of high school.
