TOP TIPS: “Go light with your makeup and jewellery. A wedding doesn’t mean you look like a new person. Wear comfortable shoes/heels. Wedges and mojris are great options. Invest in pieces that you can style differently each time. Like a beautiful cape, a brocade skirt, an interesting blouse or jacket, a timeless sari – all these pieces have the potential to be worn repeatedly in many different ways.”
TRENDING THIS SEASON: “Two trends I definitely would like to see bridesmaids’ follow is to wear less intricate and lighter outfits. Have fun with the silhouettes you wear. A lot of designers are making some great well-priced pieces that are a blend of an Indian silhouette with a contemporary touch. I also think it’s always great to style traditional pieces with a twist – you could wear a handwoven sari with an interesting jacket or a zardosi lehenga, paired with a classic silk shirt.”
MEANINGFUL MEMOIRS: “The dance practices and dholki nights prior to the wedding are always fun and memorable. Destination weddings are always crazy because everyone who is present comes with the sole purpose to make the most of the wedding!”
WHAT TO WEAR?
“Mehendi: “Keep it bright – dhoti pants with a cape or a gypsy skirt with an eclectic jacket.”
Engagement: “A lehenga.”
