‘ Franky's not controlling – we're best friends'

It’s fair to say Marilyse and Franky had their fair share of ups and downs during their time on Married At First Sight. Their wedding day, when the pair first clapped eyes on each other, was a huge success, with both of them admitting to finding the other attractive.

They then went on an adventurous honeymoon in the Lake District before settling down with their fellow MAFS couples in Brighton. And it was when the socialising began that the trouble brewed – with lots of people slamming ex-soldier Franky, 47, for being controlling.

However, the couple made it right to the end, with Franky even dropping the L-bomb and telling Marilyse she was his soulmate during the vow renewal ceremony.

But real life, it seems, has been the ultimate test, and the couple recently split up, resulting in Franky returning to Dubai where he’s lived for 16 years.

We caught up with personal trainer Marilyse, 37, who’s mum to Calum, 15, and Josh, 13, to find out all the goss…

Hey Marilyse. How was it watching yourself back on the show?

At first I was really anxious about it, because I was like, “How are they going to make you look?” I’ve not been on anything so extreme before on TV so I was really nervous. But after the first episode, I was like, “Actually, it’s not that bad!” I enjoyed it.

Was anything important to you edited out of the final cut?
