Gaby Roslin needs no introduction. She is the bubbly presenter of some of the UK’s best-loved television and radio shows, who looks a decade younger than her 56 years. When we catch up with Gaby over Zoom, she’s had less than five hours sleep but is her usual chatty and happy self, bouncing around her beautiful kitchen.
“I’ve never been a good sleeper,” she tells us from her north London home. “I’m always dreaming up work ideas and projects and can’t wait to put them into practice, so my mind is always ticking over.”
In fact, Gaby has been so successful throughout her career that for almost three decades she has been at the top of her game. From fronting Channel 4’s groundbreaking The Big Breakfast 28 years ago to co-hosting Children In Need with Terry Wogan, and making millionaires on The National Lottery Live draws, Gaby’s everpresent smile, positivity and enthusiasm have made her a national treasure.
With her own hugely popular Sunday show on BBC Radio London, Gaby tells us she is never lost for words, admitting, “Presenting is my greatest passion and one I thrive on. There’s nothing like the buzz and adrenalin you get from doing live TV.”
Even during lockdown, Gaby was involved in numerous projects and recently hosted The Massive Get Together, a major online charity event that saw some of the world’s biggest acts come together to raise money for 10 charities, including Marie Curie, St John Ambulance and Crisis.
Here, the TV personality talks life lessons, gratitude and her ongoing commitment to throwing her energy into charity work…
Gaby, you are always in great spirits. How do you maintain such a happy-golucky vibe?
