When it comes to motherhood, there is nothing off-limits for Ashley James. No matter the topic, the DJ and presenter is happy to share the highs and the lows.
The 34-year-old welcomed son Alfie River into the world back in January with her partner Tom Andrews, and it’s safe to say their little one is an absolute cutie.
“Now I have Alf, I look at him and I just think it’s amazing that my body made him,” a besotted Ashley tells us. Aww!
But becoming a mum has also come with its judgement online, and the star says she has found it difficult to receive parenting criticism from other mums.
“I’ve had very vulnerable moments in my postnatal journey – I find it difficult when people make comments,” she admits.
Here, Ashley opens up about negativity on social media and embracing her changing body…
Hi Ashley! You and partner your Tom recently enjoyed your first date night since Alfie was born. Will there be more soon?
I really hope so. It was so nice. It’s important to schedule in that time for just each other. Even if you’re together after work, there’s a lot of logistics that can come with having a baby. Once Alfie is in bed we might use that time so I can do some self-care and Tommy can do a workout, so to actually have some time together one-on-one without Alf, and it not being something practical, was just so nice.
Last time we spoke your family hadn’t met Alfie because of lockdown. Have they met him now?
