On season two of Netflix reality show Too Hot To Handle, more than 29 million households tuned in to watch Emily Miller and Cam Holmes holding themselves back from getting too intimate in a bid to win $100,000.
The rules for the sexy singles were enforced by Lana, a virtual assistant and Alexa-style device that kept an eye on contestants and deducted money from the prize fund if their antics were deemed rule-breaking.
While Emily, 27, and Cam, 25, struggled at the start, they assure us they took full advantage of not having to live by the show’s rules once filming ended.
“Sometimes it was too much,” laughs Emily. “But we had a lot of making up to do!”
The idea was to leave the show having built more deep and meaningful relationships. Emily and Cam did that and recently celebrated their first anniversary together. Following the show, they moved in together in Emily’s mum’s house. But now they’re excited to exclusively open the doors to their own home – a fabulous two-bedroom apartment in East London.
This time last year Cam was a part-time model and delivering parcels for Hermes in Newport. Emily also dabbled in modelling and was a self-confessed “dosser” – so it’s safe to say their lives have changed quite a bit. Fast forward 12 months and they’ve racked up 3.7 million Instagram followers between them and get invited to events across the country. “I get offended if I’m not invited to something now,” jokes Emily, while Cam adds, “I’m very grateful for the life I’ve got now.”
