‘Things got so bad during the birth I made a will'

Things look idyllic for Chloe Goodman as the doting mum cuddles her new baby boy during our exclusive shoot. Posing with son Hudson, her footballer fiancé Grant Hall and their 18-month-old daughter Isla at their Brighton home, the 28-year-old reality TV star is the image of happiness.

But the scene is a sharp contrast to the nerve-racking ordeal they went through getting Hudson here. The couple had to deal with an operation gone wrong and a traumatic early C-section – at one point, Chloe’s condition was so serious she made a final wish list and wrote a will, in case she didn’t make it.

Then, when they were back home with Hudson and seemed safely out of the woods, they had to dash to A&E with the tot, fearing he had meningitis.

Chloe’s nightmare began three months into her pregnancy. The Ex On The Beach star explains how in 2019, following an abnormal smear test, she opted to have half her cervix removed.

This meant she would need a medical procedure called a cervical stitch – which helps keep the growing baby in the uterus – in future pregnancies. But while inserting the stitch for her pregnancy with Hudson, doctors accidentally attached her bladder to her womb.

By 13 weeks, Chloe was in chronic pain and “wetting herself continuously”. At 19 weeks, she found out why.

Medics wanted to operate to remove the stitch – but she refused because she didn’t want to risk the life of her unborn child.
