CHANNING TATUM turns 40

From Coach Carter to Magic Mike, it’s clear this guy just gets better with age!

The hunky US actor celebrates his milestone 40th birthday on April 26 – and he’s sure packed a whole lot of living into those years!

From starring in Step Up, She’s the Man and, of course, Magic Mike to finding love with Jenna Dewan during their 12-year relationship, and becoming a dad to daughter Everly, six, Channing has got plenty to celebrate.

IN THE BEGINNING

Channing was born and raised in the city of Cullman, Alabama. Growing up, his mother Kay, father Glenn and sister Paige moved to rural Mississippi when he was just six years old. Suffering from dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, the actor struggled academically.

‘I have never really considered myself a very smart person,’ Channing has admitted. ‘Girls were always my biggest distraction at school!’

However, the actor has revealed it was his mother who guided him towards an acting career, leading him to become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.

‘My mum told me to “be a sponge” and learn from other people’s experiences because I couldn’t absorb material from textbooks easily.’
