After discovering they were expecting their first baby back in February, Danny Miller and his fiancée Steph Jones have been excitedly waiting to celebrate with their family and friends.
So with coronavirus restrictions finally easing, the happy couple threw a baby shower and invited along 60 of their nearest and dearest, including some of Danny’s Emmerdale co-stars and their cavapoos Gini and Kenny.
Taking place at Eleven Didsbury Park Hotel in Manchester on Saturday 21 August, the couple were joined by Emmerdale’s Isobel Steele, Isabel Hodgins, Jay Kontzle and Lawrence Robb, as well as Danny’s former co-stars Kelvin Fletcher and Adam Thomas. Adam’s wife Caroline Thomas was also in attendance, as well as his brothers, former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas and former Love Island star Scott Thomas.
Celebrating the news was all the more poignant for Danny and midwife Steph as they desperately tried to conceive for a year and were just days away from starting IVF when they found out they had a little one on the way.
“After trying for so long, we wanted to celebrate,” says Danny, who organised the baby shower alongside Steph’s close friends Sam and Lynsey.
And every detail had been thought out when it came to celebrating Baby Miller, from the adorable cake and the gorgeous table settings, to the baby-themed games and sweet treats.
A dab hand at planning events, Danny, who has played Aaron Dingle on the soap since 2008, has also been tasked with organising their wedding, and the pair can’t wait to tell us that they have booked their nuptials and will be tying the knot next year.
