LEGACY OF OPTIMISM
The Wanted star Tom Parker died peacefully on the afternoon of 30 March 2022 as the Oasis hit Live Forever played in the background. The star was surrounded by 20 of his heartbroken family and friends - including his bandmates – as he lost his 18-month battle with brain cancer.
Taking to Instagram, his devoted wife Kelsey told fans, "Our hearts are broken, Tom was the centre of our world," adding she will be "forever proud" of him.
The Wanted also issued a statement expressing their "devastation" at losing their "brother", and fans and famous friends sent messages of support to Kelsey and the couple's two children, Aurelia, two, and Bodhi, 17 months.
Ed Sheeran shared a picture of Tom, writing, "Thoughts and love are with Kelsey, his children and his family, Very sad day. What a lovely guy." And Martin Kemp, who had surgery on a brain tumour in the 90s said, "Tom Parker, rest in peace my love goes out to all your family and all your friends.. your bravery, your fight and your spirit will never be forgotten."
