He’s most famous for matchmaking singletons and offering advice on the dos don’ts of dating on E4’s First Dates. But speaking to OK! over Zoom, Fred Sirieix gives us a rare glimpse into his own personal life and tells us how he experienced “love at first sight” back in 2018.
Fred, who recently turned 50, reveals that he met his fiancée, who he affectionately calls Fruitcake, as he was strolling down the street. Fast-forward two years and the couple are engaged. Sadly their wedding plans haven’t quite worked out as they’d hoped due to the pandemic, but Fred tells us he is “optimistic and positive” their wedding day won’t be too far away.
That said, the star – who has a daughter and Team GB diver Andrea, 17, and son Lucien, 12, with his former long-term partner Alex – does admit they’ve stopped discussing venues and dates as travel restrictions are still up in the air.
“We want to have everyone there and if we’re flying, I don’t want to be stressing about restrictions or anything like that,” he explains.
Here, Fred opens up to OK! about his romantic trip to Paris to celebrate his milestone birthday and tells us he wouldn’t rule out taking part in, I’m A Celebrity...
Tell us about your 50th celebrations in Paris…
