Bontle Modiselle

IF you’ve been following the local entertainment scene for the past few years, chances are you’ve come across Bontle Modiselle. The young actress/choreographer has already been on several local television productions and has been responsible for the choreography of a number of shows, including Lip Sync Battle Africa. We caught up with her to chat about her new gig as Club 808 co-host, the role social media has played in building her brand, and her plans for the future.

Congratulations on joining Club 808. What was your first reaction when you found out you’d be joining the show?

My initial reaction was to scream! I felt excitement, disbelief and gratitude all at the same time.

Boity has left very big shoes to fill! Do you feel any pressure to do as good a job as she did (if not better?

My objective is not to be her replacement, so the pressure is not in filling in or replacing her on the show, because the assumption then is that I need to emulate or replicate her impact and presence. I just want to be myself and deliver exceptional entertainment every week.
