GREG VAUGHAN BACK TO DAYS! ERIC AND NICOLE REUNITE!

Eric returns from Africa this week and reconnects with Nicole just in time for their first anniversary. For Greg Vaughan, who had last filmed 18 months earlier, the call was a pleasant surprise.

“[Co-Executive Producer] Albert [Alarr] reached out to me and said, ‘We want to bring Eric back,’ and I was like, ‘Well, great, just tell me when and what’s the story,’ ” recalls the actor. “We talked it out and he said it was very important for Eric to come back and help reshape some storylines that had been affected by his absence, but also help them to go in new directions. It was kind of an interesting take to bring Eric back from Africa after being off the canvas for such a long period of time, to make amends, to apologize for being gone for so long. But in doing so, more truths are revealed.”

Vaughan reports that he came back for a week of filming. “We compressed a lot of shows in a short window,” he relays. Returning to Los Angeles in April was a shock, he adds. “I had been away from California at that point for over a year. I left in March of 2020. I had been off DAYS since Thanksgiving of 2019 so it was like visiting a ghost town. L.A. was so different. I read the news and I follow everything that had been going on there, but driving down Ventura Boulevard, for example, it was just desolate buildings for sale, not a lot of people, everybody with masks. It seemed strange. I didn’t have the same connection to the city that I had lived in for 27 years.”
