Chloe Lanier Is Thrilled To Be Stirring The Pot on GH
Chloe Lanier can trace her performing ambitions back to a very early age. “I’ve known I wanted to be an actor since I was 3,” says the native Texan. “I don’t even know how I would have known what an actor was at 3, but I just knew!” At 10, she began actively pursuing a theatrical career, doing plays and taking film classes. While in high school, she landed an agent in Dallas, “which actually has a pretty good film market and auditions for shows that shoot in New Mexico, Georgia — anywhere in the South, really. And I was lucky, because I booked one.”
The job in question was an arc on ARMY WIVES, which shot in South Carolina. “I felt so cool,” Lanier recalls, “because I had never traveled anywhere for a job before and it was a beautiful place to work.” The gig couldn’t have come at a better time for the recent high school grad. “I was going to go to college and major in theater at the University of Cincinnati, which has a really wonderful program. I went to the orientation and everything — and then two weeks before I was supposed to go, my loan was declined. So, I had the choice of either being in an insane amount of debt for just my first year of college, or I could wait another year and work and try and save up money to go to school. In the meantime, I booked ARMY WIVES.”
