With the pandemic still upon us, some people prefer to hang out with their friends at their homes, but they also seek the atmosphere they once enjoyed at their favourite nightclubs or chill spots. So how should they go about recreating an epic evening out on the town in their backyards and living rooms? Well, local reality series Switch Up Your Space has the answer. In each episode, a lucky contestant receives a home makeover worth R15 000 (with an overall grand prize of a R150 000 makeover) in which a part of their house is transformed into an ultimate party zone.
The three-day renovation project is carried out by comedian host George Mnguni, who’s better known as Okay Wasabi, along with leading interior designer Ayesha Nobanda and media personality Afrika “Smash Afrika” Mdutyulwa, whose role as the “Vibe Master” includes uplifting the team’s energy and pulling out surprises.
