STARS SPEAK OUT

Elliot Page – the actor who formerly went by the name Ellen Page – has announced he is transgender, telling fans how “remarkable” it feels to finally be his “authentic self”. “I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he/they and my name is Elliot,” the 33-year-old said in a heartfelt statement on December 2. “I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have arrived at this place in my life.”

Page burst onto the Hollywood scene with an Oscar-nominated role as a pregnant teenager in 2007’s Juno and roles in Inception and To Rome with Love, before coming out as gay in 2014. He quickly become a flag-bearer for Hollywood’s LGBTIQ+ community. “I love that I am trans,” Page continued in his statement. “And I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive.”
