YES, YOU DID READ that correctly: HyperX’s new Cloud Flight S gaming headset features wireless Qi charging. Who exactly was asking for this, we’re not too sure; maybe drop us an email if you’ve ever felt the need to precariously balance your headset atop a Qi charging pad.
It’s certainly an odd feature to tout, especially given the fact that headsets as a whole don’t seem to naturally pair up with wireless charging. A Qi-compatible mouse and mousepad combo makes perfect sense; a mouse is small, with a flat base that's ideal for wireless charging. A headset, on the other hand, is bulky and awkwardly shaped. The Cloud Flight S was designed to counteract these issues, with flat outer earcups and weighting to make balancing the headset easier. It does sort of work; using a basic Qi charging pad, we were able to place the Flight S down and let it begin charging.
