AS PART OF THE company's expansion into the wider peripherals market, NZXT has released a mouse and keyboard combo, with the Function keyboard (reviewed opposite) alongside this Lift mouse. The NZXT Lift is a budget mouse, so maybe the brand is pinning its hopes on value-for-money peripherals attracting an audience looking to get into gaming. There is, of course, plenty of choice when it comes to gaming mice as it’s a highly competitive market, so is this NZXT offering worthy of your time?
At first glance, the mouse is in keeping with the design of the Function keyboard. Finished in a matte material, it could pass in a more conventional office setting. Though an ambidextrous design, it still favors right-handed users, as there are two programmable side buttons on the left side for right-handed users’ thumbs. One thing to mention here is that the mouse has quite a low profile and there isn’t much room to rest your thumb on the side of the mouse without hitting these buttons. It’s unlikely that you’ll accidentally actuate them, but for comfort purposes, it’s not ideal.
