STOP THAT, IT’S SILLY. So goes the immortal Monty Python meme, and we’re beginning to think it applies to the PC monitor market, especially when it comes to ultrawide screens.
It started in 2012, with a 29-inch LG monitor with a cinematic 21:9 aspect ratio. That was followed by a gaggle of 34-inch models sporting the same basic proportions. Then 38-inch alternatives appeared, by which point 21:9 almost looked normal.
