Quality And Affordability The Top 25
Careers 360|December 2018

The competition is fierce for those rare seats in IITs, IIMs or AIIMS. Don’t lose hope. We have a parallel stream of good institutions where the outcomes are equally good, if not better…

Quality And Affordability The Top 25

Why does one learn? Is it just to gain knowledge? Or is it to gain employment? On a philosophical plane, education must fulfill certain objectives. The first and foremost would be to understand realities in a scientific manner, discarding the cobwebs of hearsay. This would mean instilling scientific values in students, while factoring in social sensibilities. So, by extension, this would, in a way, mean that the role of education is to develop citizens, who have the skills to find gainful employment.

Having said that, let’s take a look at the harsh realities of India’s higher education. More than 12 lakhs students apply for admissions to top engineering colleges. Some 7 lakhs try their luck in medicine. Those who are not in the race for professional colleges try to get admissions in good universities.

In places like Delhi, the cut-offs are prohibitive, sometimes as high as 100 percent. This is a pointer to competition. When it comes to funding one’s education, the tuition fee runs into lakhs of rupees a year, if you are aiming for a topnotch institution in the public or private sector. If you don’t get the right institution at the right price, does the question of gainful employment come up at all?

We at Careers360 understand the students’ dilemma. We cast our net wide and came upon dozens of institutions, from agriculture and allied sciences to engineering and pure sciences, languages to sports and mass communication, that offer exceptionally good education at affordable costs. Read on to know about these affordable institutions that can help you gain rich knowledge and land good jobs.
