YEARS ago, I wrote two ‘recipestyle’ books about growing plants in containers and our garden was consequently filled with a collection of baskets, troughs, pots and urns burgeoning with plants.
Our lives were dominated by watering, feeding and dead-heading – so for a long spell afterwards we took a break from summer containers.
