The shadow of his former self, Lundi Tyamara is battling yet another demon: ill health. But the star, who’s been in hospital for two months, has written a new song nonetheless.

MZANSI IS still mourning the untimely passing in December of legendary singer Sfiso Ncwane – now fans are confronting the fact that gospel’s prodigal son, Lundi Tyamara – who’s been in hospital for two months – is seriously ill.

Photos of the fragile­looking crooner recently went viral on social media, prompting an outpour of sympathy and get­well wishes from industry friends and other prominent figures, including EFF chief Julius Malema.

But the sickly singer is determined to fight for his life and has even penned a new song from his hospital bed detailing his experience.

“He’s working on a single called Nomakwenzekani Empilweni yam (No matter what happens in my life). However, at this stage I can’t confirm whether the single will be followed by an album,” his manager Anele Hlazo tells us.

The song, set to drop before Easter, will be recorded at Edenvale Hospital in Joburg where the 37­year­old is being treated in a private ward.

Although Lundi is making progress, he’s a shadow of his former himself: Once a ball of energy on stage, the singer looks pale in the photos posted on social media. His clothes hang loosely on his near skeletal frame, while his head is propped up against hospital pillows.
