Zahara Finds Love

HE’S young, independent and treats her like a queen – but it was his relationship with God that convinced her she might have just found her prince.

Afro-soul singer songwriter Bulelwa “Zahara” Mkutukana is in love with a younger man with an old soul and she’s embracing every minute of this new phase of her life.

Zahara’s been plagued by controversy and scandal in recent months – according to reports she’d been hitting the bottle too hard, had money woes and hadn’t delivered on financial promises to pay for school uniforms for kids in underprivileged areas (Broken promises? 8 June).

But this time it’s good news all the way – and there’s no hiding the happiness in the 28-year-old star’s eyes.

Zahara met her new bae just months after her break up with popular Amaza Ntshanga, the Umhlobo Wenene radio presenter everyone had expected her to marry until the shocking revelation that they were over.

She was all set to take a break from relationships and maybe try again after she turned 30. But that all changed when Siphesihle “Ian” Sibiya (23), a Mpumalanga motivational speaker and part-time actor, entered her life and swept her off her feet.

“I couldn’t believe we both fell in love so quickly,” the songbird says. “Ian is such a gentleman. He doesn’t come to the house without a gift. People will say I said the same about Amaza but I honestly believe Ian is the one.”

SHE’S practically beaming as she speaks and looks more radiant than she has in many months. She’s more than happy to share the story of how she lost her heart to this new man.

The lovebirds met on 31 December 2016 when a family friend brought Ian to a New Year’s Eve braai Zahara was hosting.
