It’s good to rant. The Rave General has the final word.
GLAMOUR, GIRLS?
When beauty comes at a price
Girls are weird. Particularly when it comes to the pursuit of beauty. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with wanting to look one’s best, but too many chicks get sucked into weird beauty trends that should make any semi-sane non-blind person raise a questioning eyebrow. In fact, let’s start there… with eyebrows.
From the savagely plucked pencil thin brows of the ’90s sported by the likes of Pamela Anderson and Gwen Stefani, we seem to have arrived at the complete opposite end of the spectrum. Thanks to models like Cara Delevingne big brows became a trend some time in 2011. Who knew then that big brows would turn into BIG business – worth £20 million in the UK alone last year?
British women spend, on average, £200 a year on eyebrow grooming. This is an alien concept to me. My eyebrow ‘grooming’ consists of plucking out a few stragglers whenever I remember to do so with a pair of Boots tweezers that I’ve had since time began.
