Sam Rockwell and Michelle Williams re-create a legendary musical partnership
Glossy, star-studded and packed full of musical hits, BBC2’s new true-life drama Fosse/Verdon chronicles the troubled personal and professional relationship between Bob Fosse, the lauded film director f 1970s movies Cabaret and All hat Jazz, and his musical-theatre icon wife, Gwen Verdon.
Spanning five decades, the eight-parter, which starts with a double bill, jumps back and forth in time to follow their partnership, which was rocked by Fosse’s infidelities, as well as his absentee parenting, self-doubt, drug-taking and depression.
