Ann Down On Aunt Lydia’s latest act of shocking violence.

There are few people more terrifying on TV than The Handmaid’s Tale’s fearsome Aunt Lydia. Over the past few years, we’ve seen the sadistic disciplinarian, played by Ann Dowd, punish the handmaids with brutal violence as she teaches them how to behave in the oppressive Gilead society.

So far this series, she has been a shadow of her former self as she recovers from the events of last season when rebellious emily (Alexis Bledel) stabbed her with a kitchen knife and kicked her down the stairs.
