Australian actress Ruby Rose joins the Arrowverse crossover as the shows’ first gay superhero
After last year’s high-octane crossover that saw Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow take on Nazis from another Earth, the superheroes reunite again this week for their annual Arrowverse get-together.
This year’s three-episode crossover begins in Thursday’s episode of The Flash, before continuing next week in Arrow on Monday 17 December and ending in Supergirl on Tuesday 18 December – with Arrow and Supergirl switching over from their usual days.
GOTHAM BOUND
Sadly, the Legends don’t feature this year, but there still promises to be thrills galore as the team heads to Gotham after the evil scheming of John Deegan (Jeremy Davies), a mad doctor at Arkham Asylum, draws Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), The Flash (Grant Gustin) and Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) to the city where they cross swords with some dangerous super-villains, including the Psycho-Pirate (Bob Frazer). ‘We went so big with the crossover last year, you can’t go bigger, so this time we are focusing more on the characters and the story,’ says Amell.
Although Gotham, the traditional stomping ground of Batman, has been referenced on the shows before, this will be the first time it’s actually been portrayed on the DC dramas.
