Courteney Cox discovers she’s descended from Britain’s first Norman king
Scheming Ancestors, a shocking murder and warring medieval English kings might sound like TV’s latest period drama, but they are, in fact, just some of the things that Courteney Cox uncovers when she traces her family tree in W’s Who Do You Think You Are? USA, which returns this week for a new eight-part series
Growing up in rural Alabama, the Hollywood actress knew virtually nothing about her mother’s side of the family, but she’s in for a surprise when she travels to the UK for the show.
‘My mum was an only child and her dad died when she was just six weeks old, so she never knew her father,’ reveals the 53-year-old former Friends star. ‘I only know his name was Bruce Bass and that I was from English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish descent.’
