A shocking dispute over property ownership opens up a can of worms involving a painful family breakdown, some disturbing secrets and huge ethical dilemmas in ITV’s suspenseful new thriller Our House.
Based on Louise Candlish’s award-winning novel, the four part drama begins as mum-of-two Fi Lawson, played by Tuppence Middleton, returns home one day to find another family moving into her stylish suburban house and claiming that they own it.
With all her belongings gone and her estranged husband Bram (Martin Compston) not answering his phone, Fi embarks on a mission to work out just what has happened.
‘Fi is ordinarily practical and not too emotional, but this forces out a side of her that is not very familiar – being out of control. You see her world unravel,’ says Middleton, 35, as TV&Satellite Week joins her for a video chat.
TOTAL PANIC
‘We watch her spiral into despair. She can’t get hold of Bram, she has no idea how someone can sell your property from under you without you realising. It’s just total panic. She’s lost everything.’
The action then flashes back to show what has led to this point, and how Fi and Bram split up after he had an affair but are trying to do what is best for their two young sons.
