It takes a lot of guts to write and star in a live TV episode, but its no surprise that Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton would willingly agree to such an ordeal.
The ingenious creators of brilliant anthology series Inside No. 9 have already written an episode in iambic pentameter, done another as silent comedy and set one inside a wardrobe – so going live should be a breeze.
While we eagerly await a fifth series, the pair are giving us a Halloween treat with a one-off live episode. Anything could happen, of course, but we’re promised a spooky tale, packed with their inimitable mix of humour and horror.
We sat down with the duo to hear all about the special…
What can you tell us about this live episode?
Pemberton It’s a spooky story set in the present. I play a man called Arthur Flitwick, who is walking home one night when he finds an old mobile phone in a graveyard. He takes with him and tries to find out who it belongs to, which kicks off the whole story.
