Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan hit the road for celebrity chat and offbeat challenges
They’ve been friends for years, having met on the comedy circuit. Now Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan are putting their friendship to the test in a six-part travelogue that sees them taking on embarrassing challenges and interviewing big stars.
In Rob and Romesh vs. the odd couple showcase their dancing, DJ-ing, sporting and even modelling capabilities in front of scarily big audiences, and meet the likes of country singer Shania Twain, boxer Anthony Joshua and, this week, sprint superstar Usain Bolt in Jamaica.
We spoke to Beckett to find out whether the chalk-and-cheese pals are still on speaking terms…
How would you describe the dynamic between you two in the show?
Romesh is miserable and I love winding him up, so he would say I’m annoying. He enjoys my company and I make the experience more fun for him – he just won’t admit it!
