Heroes & Villains!

DRAMA

Poldark

SUNDAY/BBC1/9PM

Move over George Warleggan! There’s a new villain set to rock ross Poldark’s world, as disarmingly charming but unscrupulous MP and society figure Monk Adderley makes his much-anticipated debut this week, as series four of the hit Cornish costume saga Poldark continues.

Despite previously refusing to become a politician, Ross has realised the only way to fight for the rights and interests of the downtrodden is at the Palace of Westminster, and last week he triumphed in the local election to win the seat of his nemesis George as MP.

Now, as Ross prepares to make his maiden speech in Parliament, George is busy trying to buy his way back in by purchasing a borough, and asks his new friend Monk – who’s taken an instant dislike to our swashbuckling hero – to help him make the necessary connections.

With the wily George and Monk united in their scheming, Ross will need to have his wits about him in order to survive his new political life in London…

TV Times met up with the always-charming Aidan Turner (Ross) along with Jack Farthing (George) and Max Bennett (Monk) – who in real life are thankfully lovely and friendly, phew! – to chat about Poldark’s most explosive storyline yet…
