LUCY WORSLEY INVESTIGATES

NEW TUESDAY, 9PM, BBC2 FACTUAL

British history is filled with unsolved mysteries, and Lucy Worsley is thrilled to be shedding new light on four of the most famous events from across the centuries for a brand-new BBC2 series.

Lucy Worsley Investigates will see the popular historian turn the spotlight on a different story each week, using new evidence and cutting-edge techniques to reframe the past, starting with the witchcraft trials that swept through the land from the late 16th century. Subsequent episodes will see her reinvestigate what actually caused the Black Death, the 1480s case of who killed the Princes in the Tower, and the madness of King George III.

TV Times caught up with Lucy, 48, to find out more...

We loved your BBC4 series British History's Biggest Fibs - is this a sequel?

Yes, it's like British History's Biggest Fibs mark two! We wanted to take a worm's-eye view of these big mysteries from history that most people have heard of, to see what we can learn by looking at events from the bottom up.

History is usually seen through the eyes of kings, queens and aristocrats, but we scoured the archives to tell the stories of ordinary individuals caught up in these events.
